  • who: Nodira, school friend, known her since age eleven
  • difficulty: failed university entrance twice, father ill, part-time job
  • what she did: studied at night, worked in a pharmacy, asked teachers for help
  • why admire: never complained, third attempt passed, now trains as pharmacist

Band 6

I would like to talk about my friend Nodira, who I know時態錯誤:應為「have known」 since we were eleven years old at school. She had many difficulties after she finished school. She wanted to study at the pharmacy university, but she fail時態錯誤:應為「failed」 the entrance exam two times. During that period her father was ill, so she also had a part-time job in a pharmacy and she study時態錯誤:應為「she studied」 at night. Many people told her to stop, but she never gave up常見說法,用法缺乏變化 and asked her teachers for help with the difficult subjects. When she got her second result, she cried for one evening, but the next morning she was at her desk again. On the third attempt she passed, and now she is in her second year of the course and she works with real patients. I admire her very much because she never complained about her problems, and when I feel時態錯誤:應為「felt」 tired of my own studies, I always think about her. I also admire her because she help主詞動詞不一致:應為「helps」 other students now. I think her story shows that if you keep trying you can reach your goals, even if it takes more time than other people.

Band 7

I’d like to talk about my friend Nodira, whom I’ve known since we were eleven. She faced a lot of difficulties after finishing school. She wanted to study pharmacy at university, but she failed the entrance exam twice. During that period her father was ill, so she also worked part-time in a pharmacy and studied at night. Many people told her to stop, but she refused to give up表現決心的自然說法 and asked her teachers for help with the subjects she found hardest. When her second result arrived she cried for an evening, but the next morning she was back at her desk. On her third attempt she passed, and she’s now in her second year, working alongside real patients. I admire her enormously, mainly because she never complained, and whenever I feel tired of my own studies, I think of her時間子句,把個人反應和故事連起來. What impresses me even more is that she now helps other students分裂句,強調重點. I think her story shows that if you keep trying you will reaching詞形錯誤:應為「reach」 your goals, even if it takes longer than it does for other people.

Band 8

I’d like to talk about my friend Nodira, whom I’ve known since we were eleven. She faced a lot of difficulties after finishing school. She wanted to study pharmacy at university, but she failed the entrance exam twice. During that period her father was ill, so she also worked part-time in a pharmacy and studied at night. Many people told her to stop, but she refused to give up and asked her teachers for help with the subjects she found hardest. When her second result arrived she cried for an evening, but the next morning she was back at her desk. On her third attempt she passed, and she’s now in her second year, working alongside real patients. I admire her enormously, mainly because she never complained, and whenever I feel tired of my own studies, I think of her. What impresses me even more is that she now helps other students who are struggling in the way she once did帶有關係子句的分裂句,增加深度. Her story shows me that perseverance can outweigh a slow start精準的抽象表達, and that success often belongs to the people who simply refuse to stop.

  • Band 6的時態失誤(「who I know since」、「she fail」、「she study at night」)在Band 7已經改正(「whom I’ve known」、「she failed」、「studied at night」),Band 8也維持乾淨。
  • Band 6說「never gave up」;Band 7升級為「refused to give up」,並加上時間子句「whenever I feel tired」;Band 8保留這兩者,並加上抽象的反思「perseverance can outweigh a slow start」。

  1. Why do some people give up easily when they meet difficulties?
  2. Do you think failure is a necessary part of success?
  3. What qualities help people to keep going in hard times?
  4. Should schools teach children how to deal with failure?
  5. Do you think people today are more or less determined than in the past?
