他們會注意你能否從「very good」、「very beautiful」和「very tired」進一步用出以英語為母語的人實際會一起使用的詞語搭配,例如「soak up the atmosphere」或「off the beaten track」,以及你能否像談旅行的好處一樣自然地談它的壞處,例如過度觀光。

如果你搜尋的是假期用字,而不是旅行用字,下方Band 6和Band 7的分組涵蓋了描述假期本身的字:「a beach holiday」、「a day trip」、「a long weekend」、「a package holiday」、「a staycation」、「peak season」。它們能直接回答Part 1的問題「What kind of holidays do you like?」,而「recharge my batteries」或「a well-earned break」則說明原因。

「off the beaten track」屬於哪個Band?

在Speaking考試中說「a very nice place」安全嗎?

Lexical Resource評分項目看重的是用字是否準確,例如「I went on holiday」或「I went on vacation」,而不是「I went to holiday」。

「Travel」是泛指的活動,通常是不可數名詞,例如「I love travel」、「travel broadens the mind」。「A trip」是一次出行,涵蓋在外的那段時間,例如「a day trip」、「a business trip」。「A journey」是從一個地方到另一個地方的過程,例如「a long journey by train」。說成「a travel」,或明明指的是一趟旅行卻說成「a journey to the beach」,是這個主題最常見的失誤之一。
