雅思IELTS詞彙：嗜好與空閒時間
嗜好與空閒時間在Part 1不斷出現，也直接成為好幾張Part 2題卡（cue card）的主題，題目涵蓋嗜好、運動和照片，並延伸到Part 3有關休閒方式的改變，以及科技如何影響人們度過空閒時間的討論。這個主題也會出現在以工作與生活平衡、生活方式改變為題的Writing（寫作）Task 2作文中。
在Lexical Resource（詞彙資源）方面，考官會注意考生描述享受與動機時，是否只會說「I like it」和「it’s fun」。「recharge my batteries」、「a welcome distraction」這類自然的詞語搭配，或「unwind」和「de-stress」這類精準的動詞，比在每個情境都重複「relax」，更能展現廣泛而準確的詞彙。
常見的錯誤包括：一再使用「I like」和「I enjoy」而沒有變化；形容放棄一項嗜好時只說「I stopped」，雖然正確卻很平淡；以及把「a labour of love」這類慣用語硬塞進意思和所描述的嗜好不太吻合的句子裡。
這個主題會出現在哪裡
- Part 1關於你自己生活的暖身題目，例如「What do you usually do in your free time?」，下方還有另外4題。
- Part 2針對題卡進行1～2分鐘的個人陳述，例如Describe a hobby you would like to try, Describe a sport or physical activity you enjoy, Describe a photo you like。
- Part 3較抽象的追問，也是精準用語最重要的地方，例如「Do you think people have less free time now than in the past?」。
- Writing Task 2關於「嗜好與空閒時間」的作文題目，同樣會獎勵這些片語：你能說出口的詞語搭配，就能寫進作文。
