IELTS Speaking Part 2 Cue Cards

These are commonly reported IELTS Speaking Part 2 topics, grouped by family. The pool of topics rotates, so the aim is not to memorise this list — it's to get comfortable talking about each family of topic, using the two-minute strategy to structure whatever card you're actually given.

Season note, October 2026: twenty cards added for the topics candidates report for September 2026 to April 2027. The pool rotates and older cards still come up, so practise by family, not by list.

  • Pick a family you find hardest and work through every card in it before moving on.
  • Time yourself with the one-minute prep and two-minute answer — don't just read.
  • Compare your own answer against the sample, then re-record it in your own words.

62 cards, eight topic families.
