“what city”와 “where it is located”는 비교적 짧고 사실 위주로 말하고, “what you know about it”에는 구체적인 사실이나 인상 두세 가지로 상당한 시간을 쓰세요. 그다음 “why you’d like to live there”에 충분한 비중을 두세요.

I’d like to talk about Lisbon, in Portugal, which sits right on the Atlantic coast in the western part of the country. I haven’t actually been there myself, so what I know comes mostly from friends who’ve visited and a fair amount of reading I did when I was briefly considering studying abroad. From what I understand, it’s a fairly affordable European capital compared to somewhere like London or Paris, with quite a cosmopolitan mix of people, partly because a lot of remote workers and students have moved there over the last several years. It’s also known for having a genuinely laid-back pace of life despite being a capital city, which is something that came up repeatedly in almost everything I read or heard about it. The reason I’d like to live there specifically comes down to two things: the climate, which sounds far milder and sunnier than where I currently live, and the fact that it’s become something of a hub for tech and start-up culture recently, which lines up quite well with the kind of career I’m hoping to build. I think what appeals to me most, though, is the combination — a city that’s genuinely well-connected to the rest of Europe and reasonably serious professionally, but that still supposedly has a slower, more relaxed daily rhythm than most capital cities manage. If my career ever gave me the flexibility to choose, it’s honestly the first place that comes to mind.
- “describe a city you’d like to visit” 카드와 이 카드를 혼동하여 일상생활이 아닌 관광에만 집중하는 것
- What makes a city a good place to live, in your opinion?
- Do you think it's better to live in a big city or a small town?
- How do cities usually change as they grow larger?
- Would you rather live somewhere for its career opportunities or its quality of life?
